"I don't care what you think:", the woman yelled in the ear of the police officer taking the missing persons report at the San Diego police department. "My mother was a Christian, saved by the grace of God, and she lived her life according to the word of God. When you live your life according to what the word of God has to say, and dedicate everything you do to the Lord, and live a life that's filled with sacrifice, God can just take you from the earth - you don't; have to die!"
The police officer just sat there, smiling sarcastically, recording every word she said.
"Ma'am, if that's your story, that's your story. The thing is, no matter what you tell me, I have to investigate it, validate or reject it, and present what I come up with."
"I understand that," the lady said.
"So why are you getting so upset with me?" the police officer asked her.
"Not because of the questioning, but because of the way you're asking the questions. You see, I'm a Christian and I have no reason to lie. Why would I lie?"
"I don't know why you would lie," the officer replied. "I just can't believe your story without investigating it, okay?."
"It's not okay!" the lady screamed. "I'm a Christian, I tell the truth, there are a many number of stories in the Bible that can and will validate the story that I'm telling you. Enoch, he lived a life so good, that God didn't allow him to die, he just simply took him. Moses saw death, but not by the hand of man, he was buried by God himself, and...."
"And one prophet was taken up in a chariot of fire," the Cop cut her off. "I know, I know, I went to Sunday school. I believe you, okay? But I still have to investigate your story. The insurance company will demand this be done before you and your family receives any compensation from her insurance policy. Now, if you can get a me certified memorandum, signed, sealed and delivered to the station, from God or anyone of his angels, I can almost guarantee the case will be closed. You and your family will be compensated by the insurance company, and your story will be one that will make a good testimony. Now can you get me that information?"
The woman, staring at him with a blank look on her face, suddenly smiled.
"You know what, this is a test. Adversity comes to challenge our faith. Of course, if the Lord says the same, you'll get what you're asking for. The Lord can do anything he wants to do."
