L.Y.R.I.C. - Poetry/Spoken Word

L.Y.R.I.C. is the Poetry/Spoken Word affinity fellowship of Rock the Word, the Writers Ministry of the Rock Church is San Diego. Its purpose is to articulate our love for the Lord through our creative expression.

With our words, our stories, and our original works, we intend to enlighten non-believers about the spirit of Jesus Christ. Not only do we grow spiritually by building each other up through Christ, but we also improve our talents by allowing God to use us as His vessel.

Silent Mode

Silence

Left alone to my thoughts

Priceless

No price for them to be bought

I thought, well I think in this silence

No words could express the things running, no- walking through my mind at this time

If silence is golden, then make mine platinum

Close my eyes to rewind, hoping that I can gather some

Some reason, some understanding

Requests turned to demanding

Metaphorically sitting, emotions tired of standing

I have no words for this

Just silence

Contemplations, conversations... with myself

Stipulations and frustration... I pray for help

And I welcome silence

No promises or disappointments

No waiting or missed appointments

Just me, alone... in my silence
